This modern, metal clad home fit the owners’ desire for a modern, industrial design that was also functional.
With two active children they wanted an exterior finish that required zero maintenance while still imparting the look that they love. The use of two colours for the cladding further emphasizes the home’s unique architecture. To soften the design the textured metal cladding is mixed with smooth concrete which highlights the home’s details. Standing seam metal panels on the roof offers the durability of metal while the texture contrasts with the metal cladding.
The home’s design sets it apart from the landscaping and meandering pathways that offer a natural contrast to the house’s angular style. While standing out architecturally, the home blends with the lush, green surroundings.
This home was awarded the Allan Cassidy Recognition of Renovation and Building Achievement Award. This award recognizes notable new buildings and renovations that enhance the streetscape or neighbourhood in Oak Bay.
